Interlibrary Loan FAQ

What can I request?

Interlibrary Loan will try to obtain book chapter, articles, and other items that are not owned by the Daemen College Library from other libraries.

Physical items, such as books, are only available to individuals who are able to pick up items at Daemen's main campus in Amherst, NY.

Eligibility

Interlibrary Loan is available for Daemen College faculty, staff, enrolled students, and alumni.

How long will it take?

Articles are usually received within 1-2 days and books in 2 to 7 days.

Notifications are sent by email.

Accessing Articles

You will be notified via e-mail when requested documents are available for viewing. Instructions on how to access the article are included in the email notice.

Loan Periods and Extensions

The lending library determines the loan period and renewal policy for its materials. In most cases, the loan period is four weeks.

Renewals are at the discretion of the lending institution. Submit your renewal request via Tipasa before the due date. You will receive an email letting you know if the item is able to be renewed. If the item is not renewed, the original due date stands.

ILL Log In

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows you to request materials that aren't available at Daemen College Library. Faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students are eligible to use the service. See our ILL FAQ for more details.

Our Tipasa ILL system is tied to your Library Account, which uses your MyDaemen log-in credentials.
