Andrea Sullivan

Head of Reference & Instruction

(716) 839-8474

Office Hours: 8AM - 4PM M-F

A Daemen alumna, Andrea has had a varied library career, from public to high school. She returned to Daemen in 2004 as a Reference Librarian and is now Head of Reference and Library Instruction. One of her major projects has been implementing ways to close the Information Literacy gap, and in 2007 she spearheaded the formation of "High School to College," a collaboration of WNY high school and academic librarians. She's also a gradate of UB with an MA in English and a Master's in Library Science.

She annoys long-suffering friends with her guitar playing, enjoys singing (much to the chagrin of her Siamese cat), and dreams of being the O. Henry of her generation.

Justin Dise

Archives & Instruction Librarian

(716) 839-8478

Justin returned to his hometown of Buffalo after four years of playing with and writing about cameras and video equipment in New York City. A lover of research, he received his B.A. in History in 2010 (with a minor in Classical Civilization) and his Masters in Library Science in 2012 – both from the University at Buffalo. After his hiatus away from libraries, Justin was thrilled to join the Daemen team as a part-time Reference & Instruction Librarian in the Fall of 2016. He transitioned to a full-time position in June 2018, with an increased focus on college archives and special collections.

When not at work, Justin can often be found at Mès Que enjoying a cocktail and cheering on his beloved Tottenham Hotspur. He is an unabashed Hufflepuff who enjoys the simple things in life, and is happiest when reading a good fantasy novel, admiring the cinematography of a well-shot film, or hiking the trails of New York State parks. He currently lives in North Buffalo with his wife and son.

Jocelyn Swick-Jemison

Reference & Instruction Librarian

(716) 839-8479

Semester Office Hours: 9AM - 2PM M/W, 5PM - 10PM T/TH

Jocelyn was born in Buffalo, but “grew up” in various small towns in Northern New York and the Adirondack Mountains. She returned to Buffalo for college and decided to stick around. She earned a B.S. in Computer and Information Systems from Buffalo State in 2003, and a Master of Library Science from UB in 2009. She joined Daemen as a Reference and Instruction Librarian in September 2016.

Prior to coming to Daemen, Jocelyn spent 13 years managing study databases for several large stage III clinical trials with the International Breast Cancer Study Group at Frontier Science and Technology Research Foundation in Amherst, NY. These trials were mostly focused on adjuvant endocrine therapy for hormone receptor positive breast cancer. If you didn’t understand that – please go and see her and she will gladly show you how to find the articles that were written based on these trials.

She lives in North Buffalo with her husband and two little boys. She enjoys making elaborate birthday cakes and complicated Halloween costumes for her children. If she didn’t live in Buffalo, she’d live somewhere in Vermont.
