Reference librarians are available to provide library instruction sessions, either in the RIC classrooms or your own. Instruction is provided on an introductory level to beginning students and on an advanced level to upperclassmen and graduate students. Our goal is to help students become more effective and efficient at finding information for their research papers.
The librarians demonstrate how to search the library catalog, general databases, specialized databases, and Google (including advanced Google search techniques). They also demonstrate how to request items through Interlibrary Loan, retrieve items from course reserves, and use resources such as Zotero (a free citation management software). We welcome the opportunity to work with you so that library instruction is relevant to your class assignments.
