Overview

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows you to request materials that aren't available at Daemen Library. Faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students are eligible to use the service. Our Tipasa ILL system is tied to your Library Account, which uses Daemen OneLogin credentials. See our ILL FAQ for more details.

ILL FAQ

Interlibrary Loan will try to obtain books, articles, and other items that are not owned by Daemen Library from other libraries.

Textbooks, Dissertations/Theses, and current year titles are often NOT available through interlibrary loan.

Electronic article requests are usually fulfilled within 1-2 days. Physical books usually arrive in 2-7 business days.

Notifications are sent by email when ILL materials are ready for viewing/pickup.

You will be notified via e-mail when requested documents are available for viewing. Instructions on how to access the article are included in the email notice.
The pickup location for borrowed items is at the Circulation/Library Service Desk located on the first floor of the RIC on Daemen's Amherst, NY campus. The library will not ship interlibrary loans items to personal addresses or other locations. When picking up your item(s), be sure to specify "interlibrary loan" when asking for these materials.

The lending library determines the loan period and renewal policy for its materials. In most cases, the loan period is four weeks.

Renewals are at the discretion of the lending institution. Submit your renewal request via Tipasa before the due date. You will receive an email letting you know if the item is able to be renewed. If the item is not renewed, the original due date stands.

Please return all materials by the due date directly to the Library Service Desk.
