Notes

  • For all articles accessed online, provide the DOI (digital object identifier) number, URL (without http://) or a permalink. A DOI is always preferable. 
  • A permalink is a shortened, stable version of a URL. Look for a "share" or "cite this" button to see if a source includes a permalink. Permalinks are preferable to URLs.
  • An access date for an online work should be provided if the work lacks a publication date or if you suspect the work has been altered or removed. For scholarly journal articles, access dates are generally omitted.
