General databases include news, magazine, and scholarly sources. Multi-disciplinary databases cover a broad range of academic fields. They are a good place to start searching for articles if your topic falls across multiple disciplines or if you are not sure what disciplines match your topic.

In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc.
- ProQuest Research Library This link opens in a new windowProQuest Research Library is a multi-disciplinary general research database that provides access to a wide range of popular academic subjects. The database includes full text articles from 1971 forward and features a diversified mix of scholarly journals, trade publications, magazines, and newspapers.
- JSTOR Arts & Sciences I-XV Collections This link opens in a new window
JSTOR includes core journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences. The collections also contains titles in business, language & literature, ecology, mathematics, and statistics.
- Google Scholar This link opens in a new windowGoogle Scholar is a free web search engine with a huge amount of scholarly literature across an array of formats and disciplines. Though Full Text may not be available, Google Scholar has great resources including a Cited By link for each article, showing you more contemporary publications on the same topic.
