Candid offers comprehensive, in-depth information available on U.S. grantmakers and their grants, drawn from reliable sources, including IRS 990s, grantmaker websites and annual reports, plus data provided directly by grantmakers. Candid was formerly Foundation Center and Guidestar.
- Candid @ the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library Central Library. Daemen faculty can access the premium version of the directory on-site at BECPL at any Public Access Computer under Research link on the library website. Grant research consultations can be scheduled using this link. Make sure to select Grant Information as your research subject.
- Foundation Directory Online by Candid allows grant seekers to search for granting organizations by name and location.
- Grants to Individuals by Candid includes foundations and public charities that will give grants to individuals, such as grants to support graduate education. Daemen faculty can access the premium version of the directory on-site at the Buffalo Public Library Central Library.

- Duke University Research Funding DatabaseDuke’s Office of Research Support Funding site provides an extensive database of funding opportunities.
- Grants.govGrants.gov is a central storehouse for information on federal grant programs. Since the database contains virtually every source of federal money, users are urged to review the instructions before trying to search this database.
- Michigan State University Libraries: Grants and Related Resources Guide, Affinity GroupsThis is a list of grant-maker affinity groups with links to their websites. While not all of these websites contain links to grants, tracking affinity groups can provide insight on current funding trends and tips on how to position your grant proposal for better results.
- New York State Grants Opportunity PortalThe New York State Grants Opportunity Portal provides one stop shopping for grants seekers looking for grant opportunities from New York State agencies. Registration is required but free.
- University of Chicago Fellowship DatabaseUniversity of Chicago maintains a searchable list of fellowship and scholarship opportunities.
