Newspapers & News Sources
News articles can be used to discover contemporary issues and potential research topics. They can also serve as a bridge to scholarly articles if they cite experts or studies. If you are researching something from the past, historical news sources provide access to how people understood events as they happened.
The library has access to most major U.S. newspapers, many international news sources, and many regional newspapers through its database subscriptions (see below). You can search the title of a specific newspaper in the library catalog to see if the library has online access.

For academic and public libraries, US Newsstream offers exclusive access to the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and co-exclusive access to The Wall Street Journal.
- Newspaper Source This link opens in a new windowNewspaper Source provides cover-to-cover full text for more than 40 (U.S.) & international newspapers. The database also contains selective full text for 389 regional (U.S.) newspapers. In addition, full text television & radio news transcripts are also provided.

Historical Newspapers
- Chronicling America: Historic American NewspapersChronicling America is a searchable full-text collection of pages from thousands of digitized newspapers from across the United States, including Puerto Rico. Coverage ranges from 1789 to 1963 but varies for each newspaper.
